I have decided to enroll in a sewing class and I couldn’t believe how difficult it was so find one in the City. So as I do for my Doctor, Car, Dentist, Shopping, Orthodontist, seamstress, etc. I am heading out West.
Sew it Seams on Manchester has a great program that will teach me the basics and I can progress from there. I am so excited to start making my own clothes and most of all (because I am so short) doing my own alterations!
Sewing Basics I
Tuesdays, 6-9 pm April 6-27 (4 weeks) $80, Cindy Schaper
If you’re a true beginner, this is your class. You’ll learn how to:
use a sewing machine;
read a pattern;
cut out the fabric;
and sew your garment.
You’ll learn to do things right, from the start. But you’ll also learn exactly where your choices start.

Stephers, I think it's awesome! I too thought about taking a class but the one I looked into here was at 8pm which, these days, is about the time I start getting ready for bed. Keep me posted on your projects. I would love to know how to do my own hemming. Just think about all the clothes you will soon be able to by without thinking if it's worth the cost of hemming!

I've been wanting to take a sewing class forever and always used to drive by that place thinking that's where I should go. Let me know how it goes!

I didn't get into this class. They called me last week to ask if I could join the May class because they over booked for a large group. So Sad. I can't do the May class because of travel. I will shoot for June.
